Reflector lace, pitsiheijastimia

A good reflector is a very important “safety device” that should be attached to everyones clothes, bags etc. during the dark months of autumn and winter. These have been made out of the same reflective thread that I used a year ago (link here).

Ohuesta heijastinlangasta virkattuja ja käpyiltyjä heijastinkoristeita kiinnitettäviksi talvitakkeihin ja laukkuihin. Pyörylöistä virkatut on tehty samalla tavalla kuin korvikset tässä postauksessa. Kokeilin myös onnistuuko heijastinlangasta käpyily. Tekemällä pelkkiä kaaria ja käyttämällä sydänlankana haurasta heijastinlankaa kestävämpää puuvillaa sekin onnistui. Kokeilun tulokset alla olevassa kuvassa missä on kolme heijastinta. Niiden kaikkien keskusta on virkattu ja sen ympärille tehty frivolité pitsiä. These are more traditional crochet.

And these an experiment to turn the same thread into tatting. The thin thread is quite brittle and breaks easily but by using a stronger core thread (DMC cordonnet no. 30 cotton) I managed to make this work 🙂 The center is crocheted. All the tatting is done in chains which are joined to the previous row using the core thread. The one on the right has crocheted double stitches with a narrow reflector band weaved in and just one row of tatted chains.

Now these just have to be sewn on not to be swallowed by the depths of my needlework basket!!
