Introducing two 15″/38cm natural fiber dolls I made for the grandchildren of a friend. 🥰 Both have light blonde hair and blue eyes like their role models. I used the same pattern that I’ve used for all my dolls after I modified the original pattern. For these two I ordered some lighter colour skin fabric (Laib Yala Swiss tricot “Light Peach” 320) to go with their fair hair.

For their wardrobes I went with the children’s favourite colours. Liina loves pink 💕 and Taavi’s favourites are all the colours of the rainbow 🌈 Taavi’s outfit includes a colourful striped shirt and matching shorts. He also got some dungarees, a blue gansey style pullover and a coat and boots out of orange boiled wool.

Liina’s wardrobe consists of dusty pink undies, T-shirt and hair band, sturdy checked trousers, a pink and green dress out of a Marimekko fabric, a pink pullover and pink ballerinas. On colder days she wears an avocado green coat and boots made of boiled wool. Unfortunately I didn’t have time for a proper photo shoot before Xmas so no pics of the coats or dress.

As a back order I made the new dolls some proper leather shoes. I first made lasts out of polymer clay. Then I stretched the leather over the last and measured the pattern from there. The thick and sturdy leather was surprisingly easy to mold after wetting inside with a little water. The shoes are hand stitched with a thicker polyester thread and the cobblers’ awl I borrowed from my son was a big help! The green sneakers will match the jogging pants I’ll make for Taavi’s summer wardrobe. The three layered upper is glued to the underside of the inner sole. A piece of leather to cover up the sole and a narrow strip to hide the messy seam. The sneakers are still missing the elastic band I thought I’d insert instead of fiddly laces.

Liina and Taavi also got bobble hats to match their pullovers. Filla has one too to go with her purple Irish style pullover 💜 Maybe we can arrange a big get together for all my dolls some day 🥰
These two are so lovely Liisa, their little faces are perfect xxx

They will love the dolls with their clothes that come on and off (especially off if the children are very young!) They are really beautiful!

You’re right, and the seams need to be quite strong! 😂 Thank you for your nice comment ☺
